Lincoln volunteered in the Black Hawk war. He never formally joined the military. They never saw action. Lincoln was a Republican at a time when it was the liberal party. Lincoln would have despised health insurance companys that provide almost nothing for an $800 per month premium while their CEOs $20 million severance packages, and while those exhorbitant premiums are used to pay dividends to stock holders. He would have favored our right to have an alternative to legal theft.
